I'd like an IMAP option for retrieving and sending emails as well. I do understand that we'd probably have to recreate the "Contact List" as you guys do that with your website right now.
I'd be fine if the IMAP login was on some non-standard port and included the kids Account ID so kids weren't setting it up on their own.
Our kids have iPads, and even though I filter the email content through the wireless at home... I have to fear their iPads/iPod Touches out in the wild on open wifi hotspots.
For us, we turn off the Youtube App and the Safari Web Browser... or some friend could quickly suggest they take a look at a site like Playboy. Therefore we don't allow the Safari internet application. However, we'd like to use the email application on the iPad if we could.
But forcing everybody to go through Webmail means a difficult choice... leaving the internet on all the time or not having them be able to use their kidsemail.org account on their iPad.
