Empty trash/parent delete message?

Is there a way for the kids to empty the trash?  If so, I don't seem to be able to find it.  I think it might be a good idea to not allow that so that parents can log in and see all the messages if necessary (and auto-delete them as they get old).

If, there isn't a way to empty the trash, is there a way for a parent to permanently delete a message so that it isn't in the trash or anything anymore?  If not, I think that would be a helpful feature.
